TennCare Kids Tennessee has made a commitment to Chattanooga Hamilton County promoting good health in children from birth until age 21. It's called the TennCare Kids program. TennCare Kids is a full program of checkups and health care services for children who have TennCare. These services make sure that babies, children, teens, and young adults receive the health care they need. Good health begins at birth, so it's important to Check In, Check Up and Check Back!

DentaQuest is the TennCare Dental Plan for enrollees under the age of 21. TennCare Kids dental checkups, services and treatments are available to help your children keep their teeth and gums healthy. Children are encouraged to see their dentist every 6 months for a FREE dental exam beginning at age 1, or earlier if needed. To keep their bodies healthy, children need to have healthy teeth and gums. Community Outreach Staff are available to speak with: Tenncare Kids eligible, families, schools, churches, community centers, on a variety of health topics and participate in health/community events. Community Outreach Program

Community Outreach Program provides health education throughout Hamilton County. The Community Outreach Program is a grassroots initiative to promote TennCare Kids and preventative health.

Early diagnosis and treatment can make the difference between a child leading a relatively normal life or having more significant developmental delays; long-term health care needs, or even death. Click here for more Newborn Genetic Screening information.

The Community Outreach team conducts activities in Hamilton County through a variety of venues:

  • Health fairs (community, schools, and churches)
  • Training for parents/guardians and community partners
  • Collaborate with MCOs
  • Dental presentations to elementary, middle, and high schools
  • Promote behavioral health, fitness, nutrition, special health need services and overall wellness
  • Healthy Habits (hands-on learning stations) at community centers
  • Participation in health clubs at local middle/high schools
  • Coordinate Welcome Baby events
  • Participation in EPSDT days
