Parents Are First Teachers

What is Parents Are First Teachers?

A program to teach parenting skills and early childhood education information to parents in Hamilton County who have children, prenatal to age 5.

Who is eligible for service?
Parents or caregivers in Hamilton County who have a child prenatal to age 5. Preference is given to first time parents.

Is there a charge for this service?
No, services are free to residents of Hamilton County.

Where does the service take place?
Services are delivered in the home and/or PAFT Centers or other community buildings.

When are the services delivered?
Personal in-home visits occur every 4 to 6 weeks and Parent group activities occur monthly.

After placing the call to request service, when will I receive service?
When you call you will be advised of when you can expect service. Service is dependent upon an available Parent Educator.
