Inspection Schedule

  • Restaurants – Inspected every 6 months (180 days

  • Hotels/Motels – Inspected every 6 months (180 days)

  • Swimming Pools – Inspected every 30 days (in season)

  • Day Care Facilities – Inspected every 6 months (180 days)

  • Schools – Inspected every 6 months (180 days)

  • Camps – Inspected twice per year (in season)

  • Tattoo Establishments – Inspected every 3 months (90 days)

  • Body Piercing Establishments – Inspected every 3 months (90 days)
     

In addition to the above regular inspections, an inspection is done on any complaint received in the Environmental Health Office.  Previous to opening a new establishment, contact should be made with an environmentalist for consultation, advice and plan review if required.

To report a food borne illness please call the Epidemiology section of the Health Department at 209-8190.

General Sanitation

Any complaints of garbage, trash, debris, safety hazard, etc. that are called in to the Environmental Health Office are written up for response by an inspector.  When necessary, the inspector will send a notice or will consult with the owner for abatement of the problem.  Any severe health and safety hazard within the county that is not addressed by the owner will be referred to the Health and Safety Hearing Board.

  • Food Service Employee Training  9:00 to 11:00 am on the first Tuesday of each month.  Call 209-8235 in advance, but no pre-registration required.  Cost: none
