Rat-Proofing Cleaning Up after Rodents
Rat-Proofing
The first line of defense against rodents is to prevent them from entering your home. A mouse can fit through a hole the size of a dime, so it is important to take steps to keep rodents out:
- Place hardware cloth over vents
- Keep all windows and doors screened or shut at all times.
- Seal openings in the foundation or sides of the house with sheet metal or hardware cloth.
- Plug holes with steel wool.
- Keep floor drains and sewer pipes capped.
