A field inspector must go out and evaluate each application. After doing so, the results are documented on inspection sheets, placed into the computer system, and put in the filing system by street address.  Results are then faxed down to the building department where the applicant is able to obtain a building permit. (Note: Before applicant can obtain a building permit they must first apply with Environmental Health for their septic tank permit.)
