Cardiovascular Disease Prevention

The goal of the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention program is to improve the cardiovascular health and quality of life for Hamilton county residents. This is accomplished through educational/ awareness activities, screening and referral of high risk individuals/early identification of heart disease (hypertension, heart attack, strokes) and prevention of recurrent cardiovascular events.

 

Educational Programs include:

  • Heart Disease Prevention- Knowing your numbers
  • Stroke Prevention- Knowing the signs
  • Stress Management
  • Identifying Diabetes and Diabetes Management
  • Healthy Eating
  • Managing Portion Sizes
  • Ways to increase physical activity

Available screenings:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Height/Weight/ Waist Circumference
