Who may qualify for Presumptive Eligibility or CoverKids?
Eligibility is based on household income and family size. For pregnant applicants, the unborn baby is included when determining household size.
What documents do I need to bring?
No documents are required at the time of your visit. If additional information is needed, TennCare will contact you directly by mail with instructions.
Why might my application be denied?
Applicants may be denied if:
- Household income exceeds eligibility guidelines.
- You do not live in Tennessee.
- Requested information is not submitted to TennCare by the required deadline.
What is the difference between Presumptive Eligibility and CoverKids?
Presumptive Eligibility provides immediate health coverage and may continue if all eligibility requirements are met.
CoverKids provides temporary health coverage while eligibility is being determined.
